Andrew Water (Windbichler lab, Imperial College London) will be at the IGFL hosted by Yad GHAVI HELM's team.
He will present a seminar "Synthetic Species: Rationally-engineered reproductive barriers in Drosophila"
Andrew used CRISPR technology to create artificial species barriers in the fly by combining gene activation and gene editing to engineer endogenous loci and developmental patterning pathways in embryos and eyes.
