Neurodegeneration
Several collagens have been implicated in the pathology of the Alzheimer’s Disease. Among them is the atypical transmembrane collagen XXV which is exclusively expressed by neurons in the brain where collagens are minority. As other few collagens, collagen XXV associates with senile plaques in Alzheimer’s Disease. We use zebrafish, an emerging model for neurodegenerative diseases to study the role of collagens in the pathology of Alzheimer’s disease. | |||
